My Review on Black Panther

Hello guys! It’s been awhile since I last posted due to the fact that I went home to my country, Philippines and spent the holidays there. Thus, putting my blog in “hibernate” mode. I got back here in Maldives last January and I was swamped with a lot of work. So it leaves my supposedly weekly blog posts on a much more delay.

Anyways, Thanks to a tip from my co-worker that I managed to watch Marvel Studios’ latest film – Black Panther.

Everyone got hyped with this movie because of the so called “blackness” of it. It is full of an Afro-American/British casts and director. It is also considered the first high-budgeted, Marvel black superhero movie and is renowned by many. If you ask me, he does looks so much cooler compared to old black superhero movies like Blade and Steel.

The movie as I watched it, may have to some “slice” on some of the older films. Some are based on scenes from the James Bond movies. There are parts somewhat similar to the movie Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. There are also that similar formula Marvel Studios does on their films. I wont elaborate for it may cast some spoilers.

Regardless of the similarities, it is still a very good film. There are funny scenes here and there. I like the chemistry between T’Challa and his sister. I also like what they did to the main villain, Erik Killmonger. He is so far at par with top-notch superhero movie villains like the Joker from The Dark Knight, Vulture from Spider-man Homecoming, and Baron Zemo from Captain America: Civil War.

I recommend this to everyone. My advise is to not be driven by the hype and just watch the movie having your expectations on neutral.

It’s a 8/10 for me.

Wakanda Forever!!! 😀
