I got a chance to watch the third installment for the Rise of the Planet of the Apes trilogy last night at the Schwack Cinema and I really enjoyed it. Most critics say the trilogy might be at par with the best movie trilogies ever made like the first Star Wars trilogy.

The story is a continuation of what we left off of the movie “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes”. It begins with an engulfing war between apes and humans started by Koba, who is the antagonist of the movie’s predecessor,  Caesar, the leader of the tribe of apes, has to keep as much of his tribe alive from the war-hungry humans and find their way to the promised land where no danger would come to them.

There are great action scenes here that surely satisfies its theme. There are even more intimate and heartwarming scenes that would break your heart afterwards. There are deaths of loved ones shown here. I challenge everyone to not at least have a single tear in the eye. Because by the way the story goes, it does…a lot.

The effects are so great you can actually see the slightest emotions on the apes. It builds an emphatic feel to a viewer. You can actually feel what they are going through.

The movie is a story about compassion, revenge, mercy, and heroism. A big double thumbs up. Its a 10/10 for me.
